Fat and Grease Solids Disappear

Grease Beast

See How Grease Beast Works

The Grease Beast team installed their microbiological solution at the access point of the drain, at the base of the sink, where the popular steak and fish restaurants’ fats, oils and grease are collected. When the Grease Beast micro-organisms break down grease and fats, it greatly reduces odors and helps keep plumbing lines cleaner.

Bio-degradable chemicals are placed in the drain. With drip system installed.

Grease Beast solution is automatically injected into the drain 2 times each day.

Live micro-organisms build a colony and eat the fats & grease from your pipes and traps.

Once solids dissolve, the smells disappear and the need for pump outs greatly decrease.

Case Study Conclusion

The treated cycles had lower BOD and COD at the grease interceptor outlet. While the combined treated cycle data did not show lower FOG concentrations in the GI outlet compared to the combined untreated cycle data, comparison of specific individual treated and untreated cycles show a positive effect due to the addition of product.

However, in all cases the addition of biological product did not result in any adverse effect – GI effluent characteristics were similar or better in treated cycles compared to those in untreated cycles. There is also no evidence of passing grease downstream due to the addition of biological products. The positive effect of bioaugmentation provides evidence to help keep sewer lines free of FOG deposits, and then contribute to prevent sanitary sewer overflows.

All test sites resulted in a significant reduction in total fats, oil, and grease between 2 and 7 days.  Perceptive odor within each grease interceptor was significantly reduced after 7 days of treatment.  Results were sustained with daily dosing during the one year test period.  A visual comparison of sewer lines by a camera, starting at the grease interceptor and ending at the municipal sewer head,  showed no accumulated fats, oil, or greases during the one year trial.  The working capacity of the grease interceptor was increased by over 500% because of the spatial reduction created with the break-down of fats and grease by bioaugmention; whereby, requiring pump-out of the grease interceptor to beyond the one year test.  No test sites incurred any backups, required pumping, or required special service during the test period.  Replacing the service costs of pumping with the bioaugmentation system was noted and resulted in a significant cost savings during the 1 year test period.
